Lauren Haseltine

Violin

Lauren Haseltine is the second violinist in the Cézanne Quartet, the inaugural ensemble-in-residence at Southern Methodist University, and one of the premier professional quartets in Dallas. She also frequently performs with the Dallas Opera and is an active freelancer and teacher in the greater Dallas area. Before moving to Texas, she completed a three-year fellowship with the New World Symphony, in Miami Beach. During her time at New World, Lauren was awarded frequent opportunities as a principal player and has performed with countless renowned conductors and soloists, including Michael Tilson Thomas, Osmo Vänskä, Matthias Pintscher, Joshua Bell, Emmanuel Ax, and Anne-Sophie Mutter. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Lauren completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance studying with Charles Castleman. During her time at Eastman, she was a frequent concertmaster and section leader of the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Philharmonia, and Eastman Opera Orchestra. Her passion for early music led her to be an active member of the Eastman Collegium ensemble and she performed as a permanent baroque consort member at the Christ Church of Rochester. Outside of performing, Lauren also served as Assistant Dean at the Castleman Quartet Program for three summers, where she gained experience in the administrative side of music-making. She has enjoyed spending other summers performing at music festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, AIMS Graz, and the
Lakes Area Music Festival.
